I think a sense of busy and getting ready for the dress rehearsal is clearly described. One bit I was a little confused by – “So the little man scuttled off” – isn’t Tabatabee tall and thin or is it referring to someone else? Probably me being a bit dense this afternoon. Rare glimpse of sunshine.
Thank god we have access to good moisturiser/foundation these days!!! Thank goodness Gertrude enjoys her beauty routine!!
Yes, “little man” is a mistake! Will fix thank you. May the sun keep on shining…but the rain is coming. Literally and figuratively. I wonder, does the reader at this point of the narrative, expect sun or rain at the end? Obviously, there will be donder und blitzen first…😉
